Step-by-step guide

How duplicate profile review works

Understand what happens when CDI detects two records that may represent the same instructor.

CDI uses signals such as a matching ADI or PDI number, email, phone, website domain and name with location. Similar names alone are not enough.

  1. The possible duplicate is flagged.
  2. An administrator reviews ownership and identity signals.
  3. The primary profile is selected.
  4. Fields are reviewed individually before transfer.
  5. The duplicate is archived and its URL can redirect to the primary profile.

Reviews are not moved unless ownership is confirmed. Users cannot perform merges themselves.
